PUNCH LINES is based on one and the same drawing where a broken ellipse is the premise of the painting. Around the ellipse, thin layers of geometric patterns have been painted as an underpainting. These patterns are then painted over with smoother and heavier brushwork that gives the paintings a new premise to work in. With a new premise and a personal description, the final punch line then lies with the viewer.

With intuitive searching, shaping is evoked from details in the urban landscape. Like the subway's dirty compositions of soil, tags and dirt, the gestures in the paintings are mirror-inverted, distorted and motley. It is the remnants of a series of bodily actions that talk about its own process of creation.

Anomalies in everyday life, an overblown palette, underground HipHop and humor. A negotiation beyond the spoken language - a dialogue with the medium.
